Andy McFadden — Best Chef In Ireland and Best Chef in Dublin (Food & Wine Awards 2018) — has created an exclusive Festive Menu designed to give guests an unforgettable seasonal occasion, whether fish, fowl or vegetable is their fancy. You can look forward to beautifully presented dishes showcasing superb winter ingredients put together with Andy’s French-influenced finesse, creativity, and devotion to flavour and detail.
Andy McFadden said, “The Festive Menu is a menu option we are offering our guests that will really showcase the best seasonal ingredients that are available to us. It’s almost like a shortened tasting menu which is great as you get to try many different tastes and textures.”
A stand-out seasonal dish of Sika Deer, Beetroot, Chervil Root & Parsley Root forms the main course centrepiece on the four-course Festive Menu, which begins with a starter of Jerusalem Artichoke, Hazelnut, Parsley & Truffle, followed by a fish course of Cod, Brassicas, Hollandaise & Watercress, and ends with a dessert dish of Plum Vacherin, Cinnamon, Almond & Vanilla.
Guests will enjoy their festive occasion in the gorgeous Glovers Alley dining room which has lovely views out to the atmospheric lights of St Stephen’s Green. Or, for an even more decadent experience, your party can be hosted in one of the restaurant’s sumptuous private or semi-private dining areas.
The Glovers Alley four-course Festive Menu is available for lunch or dinner and costs 80 euro per person, which also includes canapés, petit fours and tea or coffee. A vegetarian option is also available. Groups of between eight and forty people can be accommodated.
For people who are curious about cooking as well as eating, the interactive and immersive three-hour Glovers Alley Kitchen Experience makes a great festive gift idea for the budding or serious cook in your life. Participants get to join Andy McFadden and his team in the restaurant kitchen where they don an apron and learn top techniques, with lots of opportunities for tastings, followed by a four-course lunch with Champagne and wine pairings, and a goodie bag to take home.
The Kitchen Experience has proved very popular since its launch in July, earning some fine praise from people who have undertaken it, with one reviewer writing, “I really enjoyed the Kitchen Experience and lunch. The Kitchen Experience happens on the first Friday of every month, it’s limited to four people per session and costs €145 per person, with the option to bring a guest for the lunch part for €95. Glovers Alley is open for Lunch on Thursday, Friday and Saturday between 12.30pm and 2.15pm, with Dinner from Tuesday through to Saturday between 6.00pm and 9.30pm. Glovers Alley will be opening specially for both Lunch and Dinner on Sunday the 23rd of December and on Christmas Eve for Lunch only, with the restaurant reopening on the 8th of January 2019.
