Take part in the Global Wellness Day celebrations on Saturday, June 14th, with various free and not-for-profit events dedicated to promoting personal well-being, community connection, and global peace.
Global Wellness Day takes place on Saturday, June 14th; it is an international movement which raises awareness about the importance of living well through healthy eating, exercise, and inner well-being. A lineup of free public events will mark the day in Galway, Greystones, Donegal and online.
Karin Müller, co-owner of Solaris Botanicals, is Ireland’s Ambassador for Global Wellness Day and will lead the events for 2025. “I am so excited to represent Ireland again as an ambassador for Global Wellness Day. This year’s theme is Reconnect Magenta, which helps us reconnect with ourselves, our voice, and our community. I believe that when we connect to joy and peace in ourselves, we help create joy and peace around us. And that’s what Global Wellness Day is all about”.
In Galway, the hub of activity will be in St. Joseph’s Community Centre in Shantalla. Starting the day at 10:30 am and running until 12:30 pm Karin and Jörg Müller, founders of Solaris Tea, will host a hands-on course on Herbal First Aid, a chance for participants to reconnect to nature and learn about herbs and cupboard staples that may be used to combat everyday ailments and support minor first aid. Following this will be Nora Julie Veres from Nia Movement, who will host an hour-long fun Dance To Reconnect session.
After lunch, yoga teacher Laragh Cunningham and personal trainer Sarah Thornton from Soul Moves Studio will host a Meditation and Movement Practice. To finish the day in St Joseph’s Community Centre, there will be an evening of music titled ‘ Reconnect to Joy and Peace in Your Community’, where Ebanie Powell will lead Galway Sing Circle Choir, with renowned local musician Tom Portman and guests, plus DJ Des Richmond. Participants must register for the Galway events here.
In Dublin, The Wellness Hub in Greystones will host a full day of activities for their community, starting at 9 am and running until 6 pm in the Plaza Market Marina Village. The day begins with a warm welcome, intention setting, and various wellness activities including yoga, mindfulness, and creative workshops. In the afternoon, participants join a global meditation followed by music, talks, and meaningful connection to celebrate and reflect together. Further afield in the beautiful surroundings of Donegal, Jean Parker will lead Songs and Dance for Joy, Peace and Re-Connection on Lady’s Bay Beach in Buncrana, from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm, which promises to be a vibrant celebration of community, movement, and shared joy.
You can also join Global Wellness Day online, where Keith Cullen from The Green Room will lead a virtual meditation session from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
