The Kings Head has launched a special Selection Box Menu of Festive Winter Warmer

drinks to indulge in this Christmas season.

This family-run business, which is in the heart of Galway City’s colourful Latin Quarter, offers the perfect setting to enjoy a traditional Christmas drink – or a more creative concoction – and celebrate the most magical time of year with family and friends.

The 800-year-old pub is a landmark in Galway and its big open fireplaces and cosy nooks and crannies are ideal for sipping on a hot glass of mulled wine or a decadent hot chocolate on a cold winter’s evening, and the perfect spot to stay until the early hours enjoying the buzz of the festive season.

Paul Grealish of The Kings Head said, “Tradition is very important to us at The Kings Head, and this time of year there is nothing we love more than seeing friends and families come in and have a drink together to celebrate the festive season. This Christmas we wanted to take our drinks’ offering up a notch and have some fun with it, and we can’t wait to welcome the people of Galway in from the cold to enjoy a winter warmer drink with us.”

Christmas is the best time of year to indulge and the new drinks menu offers plenty of choices to suit every taste. It wouldn’t be Christmas without mulled wine, and The Kings Head are serving their famous Mulled Wine, made with Red Wine, Whiskey, Brandy, Cranberry Juice, Cinnamon, Cloves & Star Anise For anyone with a sweet tooth, they can select from Havana Hot Chocolate infused with salted caramel, Havana Especial Caramel Hot Chocolate, Baileys & Amaretto Hot Chocolate or Baileys & Cinnamon Coffee.

For those looking for something stronger to warm up those cold winter evenings, there is Hot Buttered Rum or an extra-festive Candy Cane Toddy made with Jameson Black Barrel, Honey, Drambuie, Angostura Bitters, Mint Tea, Lemon & Cloves.

The Kings Head also has evening á la carte and daytime menus featuring local producers and seasonal ingredients. They are available in both The Bistro and bar in The Kings Head from 11.00am until 10.00pm daily.
